IT’S ALWAYS NICE IN THE VALE
Vale Brewing was founded as the McLaren Vale Beer Company in 2008. The brainchild of founders who were passionate about craft beer and McLaren Vale – South Australia’s utopia of vines and surf. The iconic six dot Vale logo pays homage to our home amongst the grape vines.
Kicking things off with our flagship Vale Ale in 2008, a name that rolls off the tongue as easily as the beer slides down at knock-off time. Earning widespread praise, Vale Ale topped Australia’s GABS Hottest 100 in 2010 as voted by the Australian beer loving public. Since that time, we’ve welcomed plenty of new faces to the Vale family including Tropic Ale, Crisp Lager, Mid Coast and IPA.
In 2022, Vale Brewing returned to its spiritual home with the opening the Vale Restaurant and Bar atop the rolling hills of Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale.
South Australian owned and operated, the Vale team is always dedicated to crafting beers that hit the spot, time and again.

As Australia’s craft beer renaissance caught on, the Vale range grew. And just quietly, the awards kept coming. (World’s Best Pale Ale? Three times Champion Large Brewer, Aust/NZ? Aw, shucks.) We’re still proudly South Australian owned and made, with a commitment to consistently top-quality beer that’s crafted for enjoyment, in the spirit of the Vale.

McLaren Vale has a grand tradition of creating world class wines and outstanding produce. We embrace that tradition and the expectations that come along with it.
Known as the birthplace of South Australian wine, the Vale is located 45 minutes south of Adelaide, nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges to the east and 30km of pristine coastline to the west.
Beer maintains a different relationship with ‘place’ in comparison to wine. Where the focus of a wine is the soil and climate – beer is a product of the passion, skill and creativity. These elements are still informed by place, and the influence of McLaren Vale on our brewing decisions remains significant.
All this leads to our obsession with creating the best possible product. It’s an obsession that we’re proud of.

Meet our head brewer – Jayson
Jayson joined the Vale team in 2018 with 20 years of brewing experience. Taking the reins as Head Brewer in 2025, Jayson’s passion for his craft is evident in every brew. Known industry-wide for his award-winning beers, Jayson is forging a lasting brand legacy by pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box.
Today, Vale has brought together a skilled team of brewers who share Jayson’s passion for craft beer and the ever-evolving Australian beer scene. Together, they continue to innovate and expand Vale’s portfolio, always maintaining a focus on quality and creativity in every brew.
At Vale, we’re a close-knit group united by a love for all things beer. From the brewers to the support staff, everyone here is dedicated to crafting exceptional beers that reflect our shared passion and commitment to excellence.
